Booking
- How do I know whether my booking is confirmed?
- You do not, until Nathan says so. Sending the form creates a request, not an appointment. He comes back to you to confirm the date, the service and the price — and you get a confirmation with the details once he does.
- Are mobile cuts more expensive?
- There may be a travel charge depending on how far Nathan has to go. Prices and travel fees are not published yet — he confirms both when he accepts your request, before you commit to anything.
- How do I cancel or reschedule?
- Reply to your confirmation, or get in touch with your booking reference. As much notice as you can manage is appreciated — a private studio has one chair, so a late cancellation is a slot nobody else can take.
- How far ahead should I book?
- The sooner the better, especially for a weekend or a mobile cut. Put an alternative date on your request and it is far more likely Nathan can fit you in.
02 / Where and when
Where and when
- Where is the studio?
- In Reservoir, in Melbourne's north. It is a private studio rather than a shop, so the exact address is not published. You get the full address and directions once Nathan has confirmed your booking.
- Do you travel to every suburb?
- No. Nathan travels roughly thirty minutes from Reservoir, and even inside that it depends on the day and what else is booked. Use the suburb checker for a straight answer, including when the answer is no.
03 / Filming and photos
Filming and photos
- Do I have to be filmed?
- No. Most appointments are just a haircut and that is completely normal. Filming only happens if you say yes to it, separately and in writing, and you can change your mind afterwards.
- How are photos and videos used?
- Only in the ways you specifically agreed to. Photos, video, voice, your name and your story are each a separate permission, so agreeing to a photo of your cut does not mean agreeing to be interviewed.
- Can I change my mind about being filmed?
- Yes, at any point. Tell Nathan and the permission is withdrawn. Anything not yet published stays unpublished, and the system will not let it go out. For something already posted, he will take it down.

Practical
- Can I bring someone?
- For the studio, ask first — it is a private space and there is not a waiting room. For a mobile cut you are in your own home, so that is up to you.
- What should I get ready for a mobile appointment?
- A chair without arms, a bit of space around it, decent light and a power point. A kitchen or bathroom usually works best. A floor that is easy to sweep helps more than you would think.
- What if I am not sure what cut I want?
- Bring a photo, or a few. It is much easier to work from a picture than a description, and nobody thinks it is odd. Nathan will tell you honestly whether it will work with your hair.
